As a Ventrilo Administrator, setting up a server for your clan, here are some helpful guides. First you will need to download a Clan Member Profile. Place this file into:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Ventrilo\usereditorprofiles
where USERNAME is the username you use in your windows. When you want to add a new user on your server go to Server Admin -> User Editor, as shown below:
Inside the Usereditor, first select profiles, and then "Clan Member" (if you do not see this option, follow the instructions above!). Click Load.
Next to the login name box, you will see an arrow down menu which will display all users currently on your server without an account. Select the person you are creating an account for and type in a password and click "Add". Inform the person of the new password, and once they re-log to ventrilo they will have their own clan account.
The next step is to create channels. There are many different ways you can set up channels.
The example below will show how to setup a channel for clan members:
For an AFK Channel (in which everyone is muted, change voice mode on the right hand side to "Muted" and check the box "Disable Sound Events". For channels everyone may join, check the box "Allow Guest Accounts to Join".
If you want everybody to be moved to an "AFK Channel" after a period of time, right click on ventrilo and go to Server Admin, then Server Properties. Set the timeout in minutes, select Move to channel and pick the name of the AFK Channel you created earlier.
